This was a very good recipe, particularly considering how few ingredients are in information technology! I used i 32 oz. container of chicken broth and only 1 T of soy sauce. I also did not add water to the beaten eggs and used stale chives instead of green onions. To go more traditional egg consistency, stir soup gently and drizzle egg into soup. Later a few seconds, describe a spoon through soup and the egg volition swirl.

Oh my goodness! This was delicious :) I love egg drop soup, and this tasted almost exactly like the stuff you can get in a restaurant. I'd suggest using a wide-pronged fork to stir the egg if you lot like bigger chunks of egg in your soup.

Delicious recipe! I only utilize about 30 oz of the chicken broth to assistance thicken it up and I also use the low sodium version and it's still wonderful! Sometimes I besides add frozen corn to help beefiness it upwards and information technology tastes nifty.

I followed the advice of a few previous reviewers and fabricated the following tweaks: added 1/8t basis ginger, 1/4t garlic powder and 1t stale onion flakes (considering I didn't have any green onions on hand), and simply added a scant tablespoon of water instead of two to the egg, and so swirled it gently once I added it to the broth. It smelled heavenly, looked like something I'd picked up from our favorite Chinese restaurant, and could non have taken more than ten minutes to make.

tasted just like resaraunt style!! I made healthy modifications by using depression sodium chicken broth, omitted the sugar and cornstarch. I also added two more egg whites and one/ii package extra firm tofu for more protien. My dad thought I picked upward chinese!!

My girl has a touch of the flu, and idea that some egg drop soup would be comforting. I tried this easy recipe, and information technology was delicious! I did not accept any green onions or scallions, so I substituted fresh garlic. My girl loved information technology....it'due south a great condolement food, and nutritious as well.

I love this soup! I cut the recipe down to 2 servings and the portion size was strange so I winged it. For case 3/8 tin of 46.5 oz of chicken broth. I'm non good at math so I used 1 14.5 ounce can and ii green onions. The soy sauce,cornstarch and water I used according to scaled downwardly recipe. Added some red back-scratch powder for heat and season. Information technology was great!

This recipe is a bit bland. The water takes almost of the taste out of the master ingredients. To spice this, forget near the water and apply chicken broth, and add a bit of ginger to the recipe.

Great soup! Super easy and quick to make. I followed the recipe exactly and my husband and picky eater boys all loved it. The whole pot lasted about ten minutes. I only give it four stars though considering I think it could use a few other ingredients. Adjacent fourth dimension I'll endeavour adding a fleck of ginger, some tofu, and lemongrass.

This is really proficient! As for the water, I didn't recall information technology took much from the flavor! Maybe since I used water plus boullion that may be different! I tin can see the soy being a tiny bit to much for some people, just I liked it honestly! Great easy soup...and I ate information technology all!

Married woman loved it and she is a egg drop soup "snob". Made ii additions ( couldn't assist it), 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger and 1/2 Tablespoon Sesame seed oil. Unproblematic and FAST!

OMG! This is my second try at egg driblet soup, and I retrieve that this one is amend so the more complex one i tried. I added peas to mine though, just to requite it a lil extra. Wonderful texture and taste.

This recipe was delicious and perfect for the night after an exhausting day. I will definitely brand this over again! I afterward added a touch of sesame oil and garlic because I dearest those flavors, just the base recipe is excellent.

I liked this overall, but idea the soy sauce was a bit too strong here. I also establish that the flavor got much amend after the soup sat for a bit (to absurd downward). I love how easy and quick information technology was to brand, and will save it for those sudden "egg drop soup cravings", but I will proceed the search for THE egg drop soup.

Yummy! I fabricated this according to recipe except I didn't take any green onions on hand (substituted a little onion pulverisation equally another reviewer suggested) and I only used 1T. of soy sauce (not a big fan). This wasn't a thick, nigh slippery consistency like the soup we get from our favorite restaurant, just yet very good. And my picky 8 year-former LOVED it. Not bad for a quick, like shooting fish in a barrel light dinner. Definitely a keeper. Thanks for the recipe :-)

My 4 year old daughter and I made this together. It was super easy and very good. I found it a little salty so side by side time I will probably use reduced salt goop/soy sauce.

This recipe served dual purpose for united states. Egg Drop is my husband's favorite Chinese soup so I tried this i for him and he loved information technology saying information technology was better than any eatery's Egg Drop. By adding a squirt each of hot chili sauce and vinegar I was able to approximate the flavor of my favorite, Hot 'n Sour. Thank you, Ava, for sharing this good bones recipe.

This was succulent. I had never had egg drop soup earlier, but I loved this. When I ate egg drop soup at a Chinese restaurant, I was disappointed. This recipe is then much better. It has a nice, brothy texture, and lite, pleasant season.

I didn't try this one--made information technology for bf--but he seemed to like it. Doesn't look exactly similar what they serve at Chinese restaurants, but the championship doesn't pretend to that. Not sure I dropped in the eggs correctly, equally the eggs seemed much unlike than what I'k used to seeing. I did ameliorate with the Hot and Sour Chicken Soup, ironically, though it was simply one egg. Maybe it takes exercise. Cheers for the recipe!

I was told to make egg drop soup because I haven't been feeling well, so I looked upward this recipe and made the start one I seen with 4+ stars. I followed the recipe most verbal. I ran out of dark-green onions then I substituted for spinach. After making it I was a little skeptical because it did not wait fully cooked so I heated it for some other infinitesimal for good measure and "OH WOW" It is very tasty! I am impressed. I'm a sucker for new recipes on things I have already made. The 1st time I tried information technology, it was easy & skilful, albeit a little bland. 2nd time I added three saffron threads and chives with the broth and onions, as well every bit ane/ii t of ginger and clove of minced garlic and a few strips of cabbage. Cut the soy & saccharide in half and added it to the broth as well instead of mixing with cornstarch. Just before adding the egg I added two drops of toasted sesame oil and ii drops of Mongolian fire oil. Besides used 4 egg whites only. That was an awesome eggdrop! If y'all cook Chinese food regularly, some of the ingredients are well worth the cost.

Our family loves this soup and I make at least once a week in winter and occasionally in the summertime. I don't add anything but e'er double the recipe. I use organic chicken broth, extra large organic eggs, and Kikkoman brand soy sauce. I like to add together the green onions until prepare to serve with some crispy wontons on top. Depending on how yous like the egg swirl sizes, I similar to gently and slowly stir in egg mixture to the soup with a fork which makes for larger egg pieces. I've noticed that if cooked as well hot and besides long it changes the flavor. My 12 year old girl says it's improve than the restaurant down the street and what can be better then that!!!! Whoa. This is better than what I get in the restaurant and that's saying a lot! I cutting the soy sauce in half, figuring I could add more later if needed but I didn't retrieve it needed information technology. I also added ane/viii tsp ginger, a clove of minced garlic and an actress egg. I only added 1 Tbs of water to the egg mixture, and the consistency was perfect for me. In restaurants, this soup can exist too gelatinous for my liking so this homemade soup is perfect for me. I volition exist making this again and once again. Give thanks you!

This is delicious! I used a tad chip too much cornstarch (my fault when converting the recipe) merely that's easily thinned out. The season was good just I did choose to saute diced mushrooms and dark-green onions in a little stock before adding the broth and I hitting it with a little garlic powder and ginger powder. Nifty jumping off point for a yummy soup!

Actually expert! I was actually hoping to get the yellow, articulate egg drop soup like yous get from Chinese restaurants, but this 1 turned out really chocolate-brown! It was scary when y'all outset add the corn starch, but it boils abroad. I would have given this recipe the five stars if it was not for the fact that I had to add a petty common salt and sprinkle some pepper. Maybe since I had to reduce the recipe for two people, there was a mistake on my side. Nevertheless, I can vouch for the easyness of this soup. Just adjust the salt and add a bit of pepper if you lot like.

This was fantastic! And so like the traditional soup our Thai commutation educatee made u.s.a.. A few changes I'd make: add either fresh grated or some other class of ginger, cut back on the sodium by either using a lower sodium broth or depression sodium soy sauce. I'k going to endeavour it with vegetable goop sometime as well.

The just thing that was off in this recipe was the carbohydrate. I tried the recipe again sans sugar and it tasted great! But similar from the restaurants. It tastes perfectly fine without scallions besides. Another matter to add together in social club to brand the soup more authentic is half a tin can of corn. As well, be certain non to add too many eggs, otherwise, the soup volition become too cloudy and look unappetizing. Practiced recipe overall.

I used a 32 oz box of low sodium chicken broth. One Tbsp Soy Sauce. i/iv loving cup cold water. I had to add together in some garlic salt and pepper, equally well as simply a little bit of some Korean Style Gochujang Hot Sauce. Was keen in the end.

this may look kind of disgusting but it is admittedly delicious! I used gluten gratis soy sauce and added a handful of pre-cut broccoli slaw (has julienned broccoli, red cabbage and carrots) and used less craven broth (a 946 ml carton of gluten complimentary chicken stock). Next fourth dimension I might utilize a smidgin less soy sauce but other than that, it was wonderful

Rather than using canned chicken goop, I stuck a leftover rotisserie chicken carcass in the pressure cooker with some h2o and veggies and made a craven stock. So I took that gelatinous chicken stock and cutting information technology fifty/l with h2o. And then I followed the recipe for the about office. I feel like a whole bunch of green onions was excessive, so I put 1 large greeen onion in. It could take used a 2nd 1, merely it was fine. Then I too added a 4th TBSP of cornstarch bc I like my soup a chip thicker. Information technology turned out awesome! Merely like the restaurants! Yay!
